NARM is committed to maintaining a CPM Certification Exam that reflects current entry-level midwifery practice, meets nationally recognized standards for testing quality, and serves candidates fairly. As part of that commitment, NARM is implementing a multi-year modernization of the exam, and we want to walk the community through what’s changing and why.

- An updated exam content outline based on the 2024 Job Task Analysis, a nationwide study of what entry-level CPMs need to know and be able to do in practice.
- An updated reference list, aligned with the revised content outline and reflecting resources subject matter experts have identified as relevant to contemporary entry-level practice.
