New Preceptor-Student Accountability Policy and revisions to the Accountability and Appeal Policy – Effective January 15, 2026

NARM is strengthening protections and accountability for students, preceptors, and families by establishing clear processes for addressing concerns about conduct during midwifery training.

On October 3, 2025, the NARM Board of Directors approved the Preceptor-Student Accountability Policy, which will take effect on January 15, 2026.

Additionally, the Board approved updates to the Accountability and Appeal Policy, also effective January 15, 2026. These revisions enhance clarity in how complaints are processed.

All Current CPMs and applicants (student midwives) received an email regarding the changes.

NARM members can share feedback in the accountability section of the Community Center or by contacting accountability@narm.orgLog in to the Community Center here.
