Apply to join NARM’s Accountability Program Peer Reviewer Pool for 2025-2026. This group of CPMs will join the Accountability Case Coordinator and Administrator in building a quality assurance framework for CPMs within the new policy structure. Reviewers will be assigned to an Accountability Review Committee for the purpose of reviewing cases, determining violations of midwifery standards outlined in the accountability policy, and imposing corrective actions or sanctions when indicated.

The Accountability Review Committee meetings are held the second Thursday of every month from 4pm-6pm ET. These meetings build skills, provide practice case reviews, and are facilitated by NARM staff. Reviewers are expected to commit to attending these meetings. Case reviews are held on the fourth Thursday of the month from 2pm-6pm ET. Only Reviewers assigned to cases being heard that day are expected to attend. In all, Reviewers should expect between 2 and 10 hours of work per month.

Requirements

• Be a CPM or have a CPM Retired designation (having retired no more than 3 years ago)
• Be a CPM for a minimum of 3 years
• Attest to attending at least 5 peer review hours in the last year
• Attest that your license or certification has not been suspended, revoked, or required to practice under supervision within the last 10 years
• Can commit to the meeting schedule as laid out

Preferred

• Have participated in at least one of the following or similar in the last 3 years:
  • Participated in a state based Quality Improvement or Assurance project at the local or state level
  • Participated in a community-based transfer to hospital improvement program
  • Served on a Perinatal Quality Collaborative project
  • Experience as a preceptor or in any capacity with a MEAC accredited institution
  • Developed or taught continuing education workshops
  • Served on a state midwifery licensure board or in professional organization leadership
  • NARM’s Midwifery Care Accountability Committee or Preceptor Student Accountability committee
