Effective June 1, 2020

NARM has updated the policy for CPR and NRP requirements due to the ongoing challenges in obtaining hands on skills assessment courses due to COVID-19. If you are planning to submit your CPM recertification application or initial CPM application this year, please read the policy update below—

For those who do not have a current NRP card:

  • CPMs will be required to submit documentation of AAP NRP online testing including the eSims for recertification.
  • Initial applicants will be required to submit documentation of AAP NRP online testing including the eSims plus a previous NRP card or a letter from a NARM Registered Preceptor verifying documentation of NRP skills.

For those who do not have a current CPR card:

  • Recertifying CPMs and initial applicants will be required to submit documentation of online CPR course through AHA or Red Cross
  • Note: The AHA is extending their AHA Instructor and Provider Course Completion Cards for 120 days beyond their recommended renewal date beginning with cards that expire in March, 2020

This policy is effective June 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. All initial Certification and Recertification applications submitted after December 31, 2020 will need to meet the complete requirements of hands on courses unless the policy is extended by the NARM board.

*Update: Covid-19 exceptions for both Virtual Clinical Experiences and CPR/NRP have been extended to June 1, 2021.
