Position Overview:
The Program Administrator will play a critical role in supporting the operations of the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). Serving as NARM’s “Chief of Staff,” this position requires an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to manage and coordinate various administrative functions within NARM, contributing to the advancement of midwifery credentialing in the U.S. The Program Administrator will assist with the day-to-day operations, support the development and management of key programs, and ensure the smooth functioning of NARM’s internal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Coordination:
Oversee the administration of NARM’s certification and re-certification processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient operations. - Data Management & Reporting:
Oversee accurate and up-to-date records in NARM’s database, including Certified Professional Midwives, their qualifications, and certification statuses. Generate reports and summaries as requested by NARM leadership and other stakeholders. - Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support to NARM’s Executive Director, board, and committees. This will include scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, preparing materials for board meetings, and managing calendars. - Policy and Procedure Management:
Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of internal policies and procedures related to program administration and certification processes. Ensure that procedures comply with NARM’s standards and regulatory requirements. - Website & Social Media Management:
Direct staff/consultants in maintaining and updating content on NARM’s website and social media channels. Collaborate with the communications team to ensure up-to-date and accurate information is shared with the public and NARM members. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Support the Executive Director to maintain relationships with NARM’s partners, including professional associations, educational institutions, and healthcare providers. Help facilitate collaborative efforts to promote midwifery practice and improve access to midwifery care. - Event Coordination:
Assist in organizing and supporting NARM-sponsored events, such as conferences, webinars, and workshops, including logistics, registration, and attendee communication. - Continuous Improvement:
Assist in identifying areas for program improvement and efficiency, contributing to the ongoing development of NARM’s programs and processes. - Customer Success:
Oversee management of customer relationships and work to ensure high quality and timely customer response and resolution of issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health, healthcare management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program administration, project management, or a related field.
- Experience in a healthcare or nonprofit setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of midwifery practices or credentialing systems is a plus but not required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in GoogleWorkspace and database management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic financial management and budgeting practices.
- Comfortable with virtual communication and collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Knowledge of basic principles of non-profit and corporate governance.

This position will be performed remotely. Occasional travel may be required for conferences, events, and meetings.
