Volunteer Opportunities

NARM’s Test Development department is looking for CPMs to help build and refine the certification exam. There are several ways to participate, depending on how much time you have and where your interests lie.

If you want a hand in the big picture, the Test Development Committee sets priorities and oversees the exam development process, meeting six to twelve times a year. The Differential Item Functioning Review Panel meets two to three times a year to help determine whether statistical differences in how questions perform across groups reflect real clinical distinctions or a flaw in the question itself.

For those who want to contribute to specific projects, options include writing new exam questions, reviewing draft questions for clarity and accuracy, checking questions for bias and fairness, recommending updates to the reference list, reviewing the exam content outline, participating in the Job Task Analysis, or helping set the passing standard for the exam. Time commitments range from a few hours per cycle to occasional full-day workshops, and training is provided for all roles.

All applicants must complete a Conflict of Interest disclosure and review before participating. Please note that students and NARM prep course providers are not eligible to apply.
